Violin Lessons for Adults

  • Learn from scratch or refresh your skills

  • Have fun & express your creativity

  • Engage different parts of your mind

  • Set your own goals and pace: laid-back, serious, or in between

  • Make progress with an encouraging, experienced teacher by your side

Studying violin as an adult means the options are wide open. You’re doing this for you, so you’re free to set your own goals on your own schedule. Spend a year going deeper and deeper with a single piece ... or do something new every day.

My teaching is rooted in classical training and classical repertoire. I focus on developing your inner musical instincts and building a “toolkit” of violin technique to help you express those musical ideas. I’ll work with you toward your goals, so you’re always headed where you want to go.

The best way to make progress is with weekly lessons and daily individual practice. But you also have a life outside of the violin, so we’ll work with your schedule. We can make things as serious or laid-back as your goals are.

All lessons are one-on-one, and most are online for now. Limited in-person time slots are available in Fort Sheridan, IL. When the pandemic has cleared, in-person lessons in Chicago will also be available.
